The road less travelled…
This Champagne is proof that the road less traveled can indeed make a huge difference. Located at the eastern edge of the Marne region in the tiny village of Bassuet, Bernard Lonclas planted his first vines in 1976. Though both Pinot varietals are grown on the estate, the chalky slopes with sunny exposure make for excellent Chardonnay that is capable of producing the finest wines. Now joined by his dynamic daughter Aurélie, they produce award-winning champagne. Their latest accolade has been acceptance of one of their cuvées into the Elysée – the French equivalent of the White House!
