Less than 3000 bottles per year are produced from a tiny plot of just over one hectare. The tannins are fine which provides backbone when young and strong potential for ageing. Serve with roasted meat, poultry, and a wide variety of cheeses.


Respect for the environment is paramount to Domaine Buffet. No herbicides nor anti-rot products are used on the vines and the general approach is close to biodynamic.

Hand-harvesting and careful sorting ensure the quality of the grapes used in the wines. De-stemming is carried out according to each year’s weather and results. Oak ageing for 18 months; 20% in new barrels.

The region – Volnay, Burgundy

Located along Burgundy’s famed Côte d’Or (Gold Coast), Volnay is perched on a hillside with a South-East orientation. Exploited for centuries the wines here are often considered to be the most “feminine” or delicate in all of Burgundy.
