Domaine de Ravanès – L’Ibis Blanc – Organic
A citrus spritz with a hint of white flower honey and candied pineapple on the nose and palate.
At a glance
The complexity of this blend originates with 80-year old Maccabeu vines. Combined with the floral notes of Grenache Blanc and the refreshing acidity of Ugni Blanc (which is also known as Trebbiano in Italy), this wine is uniquely vivacious.
Pair with cold starters, seafood, goat cheese or other light fare.
100% hand-harvested from organically grown grapes. Slow-pressing is followed by temperature-controlled fermentation and ageing in tank. Each varietal is vinified separately before blending
The story behind the wine
In the family for 3 generations, the Domaine de Ravanès estate has been producing wine since the Roman era. Winemaker Marc Benin has built the domain’s reputation on his Bordeaux-style red wines and this wine reflects the reasons for his success. Respect for the environment has always been a part of the domain’s philosophy, reflected by the move to organic farming in 2010
The region – Languedoc
Stretching along France’s Mediterranean rim to the west of Provence, the Languedoc has been cultivating vines since at least 125BC. With a constant drive for improving quality, the region today provides some of France’s best values. Spanning every style of wine from sparkling to still, bone dry to lusciously rich, the Languedoc offers something for everyone.
