Domaine de Ravanès
In the family for 3 generations, the Domaine de Ravanès estate has been producing wine since the Roman era. Long recognized as an extraordinary estate by connoisseurs, winemaker Marc Benin has built the domain’s reputation on his Bordeaux-style red wines, interesting and unexpected whites, and on his approach to quality which rivals that of top Grand Cru domains. Respect for the environment has always been a part of the domain’s philosophy, reflected by the move to organic farming in 2010.
In the 70s, Marc and his father Guy took the risk of replacing traditional, high-yielding red varietals with Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The bet clearly paid off as shown with his epic Les Gravieres du Taurou which notoriously beat Petrus in a blind tasting. Marc’s white wines hail from Grenache, Ugni Blanc and old-vine Maccabeu grapes.
Whether it is age-worthy reds, gourmet whites, easy-drinking styles or fruit-forward rosés, we can guarantee that you’ll come back to this domain again and again.
